Itinerary

On arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and transferred to Nairobi Hotel. Depending on time, well-planned Nairobi excursions will begin; the Karen Blixen Museum, Giraffe Center, David Sheldrick Trust, and a tour of Nairobi city. Back to the hotel to freshen up, followed by dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant, and later back to the hotel for an overnight stay or you could relax and acclimatize before your adventure begins the following morning.

After breakfast, your driver will transfer you by road to Lake Nakuru National Park which attracts abundant birdlife among other wildlife. You will travel across the vast plains of the Rift Valley. Keep an eye out for herds of giraffes and gazelles as you head up the Mau Escarpment. While on the highway Mount Longonot (which is of volcanic origin) and Lake Naivasha can be seen from afar. Arrive at Camp for lunch. After lunch refresh yourself by taking a dip in the clear waters of the camp's pool to unwind. In the evening you will join your driver-guide for an afternoon game drive within Lake Nakuru National Park.

Explore the park on an early morning game drive. Lake Nakuru is famous for the thousands of flamingos that seasonally inhabit the shores of the lake. The park has been a successful habitat for introducing endangered species including black rhino, white rhino, Rothschild giraffe and the elusive leopard - all of which are frequently seen on game drives. You can also spot other wildlife species including buffalo, lion, zebra, waterbuck, gazelle, impala, hyrax and hippo. You will also have a chance to take a nature walk along the lake shores. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay

In the company of our driver guide depart after an early breakfast by road to Samburu with picnic lunch. Samburu game reserve is located on the fringes of the semi-arid northern frontier district of Kenya. This is one of the most scenic and dramatic safari journeys in Kenya. There shall be a brief stopover for picnic lunch at the Thomson falls in Nyahururu. Proceed on the scenic Nakuru – Nyahururu road that passes through the hub of Kenya's food basket where an insight into the living situation of the local population is visible. Arrive at Samburu in the late afternoon. Enjoy Game viewing en-route to your lodge.

Enjoy an early breakfast before departing for a morning game drive in search of wildlife and birds. Together with your guide, you will head out to Buffalo Springs part of the three small adjoining reserves that lie on either side of the Northern Ewaso Ngiro River in Samburu National Reserve. Unique features of the reserve include lava terraces, rolling grasslands, doum palms, forests, scrub brush, Ewaso Nyiro River and springs for which the reserve is named. A variety of wildlife traverses safely between the reserves, including rare northern species of reticulated giraffes, vulturine guinea fowls and Grevy’s zebras, all of which are unique to the region. At mid-day, you will stopover for a picnic lunch before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, head out on a morning adventure. Besides game drives, one of the best ways to experience Africa is on foot, so set out on guided walks with a local warrior. During the early hours, temperatures are low, thus providing a favorable atmosphere both for the game and the viewer. Learn the finer details of the bush and experience the traditional lore of the local Samburu people. Follow the tracks of kudu or zebra and listen to the ancient songs of the Samburu as they water their livestock. Your guide will also let you touch the plants and learn about their uses as well as teach you how to track animals. Head back to camp for lunch. Relax for some time before your next adventure. After afternoon tea, you will head out on an evening game drive looking for elephants and perhaps some hunting lions.

After your breakfast say your goodbyes and your driver will drive you back to Nairobi arriving in the evening. You will then be transferred to your hotel or the airport for your onward flight.
